Four things to sort before the invite goes out

- Pick the plan. Office party, team braai or lunch? Choose one and build around it.
- Sort the table. Food first, then work out what you need to serve it: platters for grazing, tongs for a self-serve buffet and plates that won't break outdoors.
- Think after dark. Summer functions have a habit of running late. Fairy lights indoors, lanterns outside.
- Don't forget the thank-you. Have gifts and gift boxes ready before the final-week rush.
- Order early for December. Main centres get orders in 2–4 working days, outlying areas 5–7. Order at least a week before your function.
